ACTRESS Marian Rivera said she never felt uncomfortable during her short stay in ABS-CBN to promote her upcoming comedy movie "Kung Fu Divas."
Directed by Onat Diaz, the said project features Marian as the lead star and co-producer with Comedy Queen Ai-ai delas Alas. It's also her first movie with Star Cinema, the film outfit of ABS-CBN.
According to Marian, in the few times she went to ABS-CBN to discuss the promotion of the movie, she felt the warm welcome of everyone from the network. Ai-Ai even disclosed that Star Cinema arranged for a catering service to welcome Marian who met with the network's executives.
Masaya na walang alitan yung mga artista ng GMA at maaring dumayo din dito sa ABS-CBN," she said during the press launch of the movie.
Marian, who took Psychology in college, revealed that she spent her on-the-job training in ABS-CBN. She was also invited to audition for casting purposes but she decided to finish her studies before entering show biz.
Wala sa utak ko yung pag-aartista," she said.
During her short promotional tour for "Kung Fu Divas," Marian appeared in "Kris TV," "Showbiz News Ngayon," "The Buzz," and "Bandila".
She's thankful to her mother network, GMA-7, for allowing her to grace the programs of ABS-CBN and for giving their blessing to work with other actresses from rival station.
When asked if "Kung Fu Divas" is just the first of many projects she will have with Star Cinema, Marian declined to comment as she still has existing contract with Regal Films.
Meanwhile, the actress shared her experience both as a producer and star of one project. Aside from memorizing her lines and delivering the acting required of her, Marian said she was part from pre to post production of the movie.
"Every time na may meeting, andoon kami.
Marian said she took co-producing a movie as a challenge and she's happy to share the experience with Ai-Ai and Star Cinema.
After "Kung Fu Divas," Marian is slated to top bill a primetime project on GMA-7. (Sunnex)
