'Sana Dati' theatrical release set on Wednesday-A A +A

MOVIEGOERS will get another chance to watch Cinemalaya 2013 big winner "Sana Dati" as it will be released in cinemas nationwide beginning September 25.
Written and directed by Jarrold Tarog, the film is a love story about a woman whose wedding is thrown into disarray when a mysterious person arrives and reminds her of the man she continues to love.
It is part of Tarog's camera trilogy after "Confessional" in 2007 and "Mangatyanan" in 2009.
Topbilled by Benjamin Alves, Paolo Avelino, TJ Trinidad and Lovi Poe, the said independent film bagged the Best Film trophy in the Directors Showcase category of this year's Cinemalaya.
Tarog also got the Best Director and Best Original Music boosts while Trinidad was named as the festival's Best Supporting Actor.
"Sana Dati" also bagged Best Cinematography (Mackie Galvez), Best Production Design (Ericson Navarro), Best Editing (Pats Ranyo), and Best Sound (Roger Ladro).
"I'm very grateful to GMA-7, who will release the film, because I was about to back out of Cinemalaya before. But they became interested on the material and they bought the TV Rights, so nagawa yung film. Importante sa akin na magkaroon ito ng theatrical release," Tarog told Sun.Star.
For Poe and Trinidad, they are both happy to be part of this project. Both Kapuso actors said they hope more people get to watch the film as it will available in more than 100 theaters nationwide.
Aside from the local release of the film, "Sana Dati" will also join the 18th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, which runs from October 3-12.
Tarog and its lead stars Poe and Trinidad are also slated to fly to the US as the project is also part of the Hawaii International Film Festival which is schedule on October 10-20 in Honolulu and October 24-27 on the Big Island and Kauai.
"Sana Dati" was graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board. (Sunnex)
