Derek says no one to blame on split with Cristine-A A +A

DEREK Ramsay said there is no one to blame on his break-up with co-star and "best friend" Cristine Reyes.
The TV5 actor faced the entertainment press Monday for his upcoming primetime series "For Love or Money."
Although he was reluctant to discuss the split, the TV5 star still entertained the questions from the press. He clarified that the break-up was a mutual decision.
"Walang may kasalanan and that's it. Walang may mali, walang masama. It's just a decision that was made. There's nobody wrong. Nangyari 'yung nangyari. Walang bagay na nagdala ng galit o kung ano man 'yung sinasabi ng mga tao," he said.
Derek dismissed rumors that the cause of the split is Cristine's attitude.
He explained that they have been friends for over three years now, since doing "No Other Woman" with Anne Curtis in 2011 and he knows AA, Cristine's nickname, better than anyone.
"Kung ugali niya, tatlong taon ko siyang kilala, tatlong taon ko siyang best friend. Alam namin 'yung totoo ni AA and that is all that matters. There's hearsay that ugali niya, bakit siya (ang sinisisi). Kilala ko ang ugali ni AA and she's a wonderful person," said Derek.
Contrary to what other people say, Derek said he's also hurting from this break-up.
He said Cristine is very special to her and he will always be there for the Kapamilya actress, "We're giving each other space kasi masakit naman, but we are still following each other on Instagram, we're following each other on Twitter. I'm always going to be there for her, as a friend, as her best friend. Time will fix everything."
"She's a strong, strong woman and she's gone through so much hardship in life. She's outspoken and she let's everybody know what she's thinking and what she's feeling, but you can see there's no disrespect coming from both parties and that what matters. That's why we want to keep this private," he added.
Derek was also not bothered by negative comments on why the relationship only lasted for one month.
"It doesn't matter what the length of time is," he said.
The actor reiterated he doesn't compare relationships. Derek said if the relationship ended earlier than his past girlfriends, it doesn't make his romance with Cristine any lesser.
The actor also preferred to keep his silence on comments regarding his "This is Forever" post on image-sharing application Instagram. Some netizens reacted that Derek's post jinxed the relationship.
"I don't need to react. I don't want to say anything. Like as I said, this is a private situation for me and let us handle it together or individually. After some time everything will be okay and we'll be back in normal friendship used to be," he said.
"I speak from the heart and I'm a very emotional guy. Sometimes I say things that get me in trouble but that's how I am. I'm not going to change that characteristic of me. Cristine and I, it didn't work out," Derek added.
He also said he misses Cristine not just as a girlfriend, but also as his best friend.
He missed talking to her and spending time with her.
Derek hopes things will get better over time. The actor said, "I can't be that way right away. And I respect that and I understand that. In time I know we'll be okay."
Mean time, the actor clarified that although they ended the relationship, they remain very professional and will finish Viva Films' "My Trophy Wife". He even confirmed that they will fly to Hawaii for a scheduled concert.
The actor said their work is not affected by the break-up.
"We are still shooting the movie. We're going to Hawaii together for the concert. I'm comfortable to see AA. I'm excited to see her.”
When asked if he still loves Cristine, Derek replied, "I'm going to be her friend for life. She's my good, good friend and she's important. We're jumping the gun right away. I'm always going to love AA and I told her that. This is going to be a long, long relationship. Until the day I die." (Sunnex)
