AFTER the success of independent movie "Zombadings," actor Martin Escudero said he is ready for the next level as he is set to star in "Positive," his biggest challenge on television.
In the upcoming series, Martin will play the role of Carlo, a young and successful professional who lives a happy family life with his pregnant wife, played by Helga Krapf.
His life will turn upside down when he was diagnosed positive of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus).
According to Martin he is both excited and nervous for this particular project because it’s something new and very daring. He's also proud that TV5 will offer this kind of informative show to viewers.
"Malaking impact (nitong show) sa akin.
Martin shared that he was surprised when the project was offered to him, but takes it as his biggest challenge yet on TV. The actor added that he's done with "tweetums" roles.
To prepare for the show, Martin worked with the AIDS Society of the Philippines and talked to HIV victims to understand their situation.
He said the experience was an eye opener for him.
"Before the show, wala talaga akong kaalam alam diyan.
Aside from his immersions, Martin also took an HIV test to know what HIV victims go through.
The show, which boosts "sexy, edgy and provocative" storyline, will also feature Bianca Manalo, Felix Roco, Mercedes Cabral, Bing Loyzaga and Ruffa Mae Quinto.
"Positive" will air every Thursday, starting October 17, on TV5's primetime block. (Sunnex)
