AFTER their successful television comeback in "Walang Hanggan," perennial love team Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta will pair up again in the upcoming primetime series "You're My Home."
Dreamscape Productions, a division of ABS-CBN Drama, announced that the two actors will star in one of the biggest teleseryes of next year on Thursday.
This family drama will revolve around two families. It tells the story on how they cope with conflicts, how they support each other and how they cope with the differences of each member of the family, and ultimately, what married couples go through.
"Masaya kami kasi after 'Walang Hanggan' maraming nag-expect na gagawa ulit kami but it took awhile. Ngayon pag pasok ng 2014 may bago silang mapapanood," Richard said.
He added, "Then along the way, 'yung romantic angle doon na lang din papasok 'yun. It's important na you'll see the value of the soap, it's really about family, how you take care of each other and how you cope up with the struggles."
Dawn disclosed that they will start taping for "You're My Home" in November.
Meanwhile, many are saying that the Richard and Dawn team-up could still compete with the younger generations of stars in show business, like the love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
Richard said that it's human nature that they will keep on watching what makes them laugh and love, that's why his on-screen partnership with Dawn has been successful through the years.
"'Yung age, walang pinipili 'yan. You could be a young person or an old one. Dawn and I, we cater to that kind of people," the actor said.
For Dawn, their advantage with the older or younger love teams now in television is their past and the chemistry they built together.
"Isa lang ang lamang namin sa mga love teams ngayon, may history kami kaya mas madali naming naipapalabas 'yung chemistry na 'yun," she said.
Aside from the fans, both actors said their real life partners are very excited with the new project.
Richard said his wife, Leyte Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez, is their love team's number one fan and she's also looking forward to watch his new series with Dawn.
"In fact, matagal na niyang gustong masimulan ito kasi marami nang nag-aantay na fans na magkaroon ng follow up 'yung Richard-Dawn project," Richard said.
Davao del Norte Representative Anton Lagdameo, Dawn's husband, is also proud and happy of her successful television career, Dawn told reporters.
Aside from "You're My Home," Richard and Dawn will also top bill two movies together.
Joining them in the upcoming series are Ella Cruz, Francis Magundayao, Enchong Dee, Shaina Magdayao, Iza Calzado and Cherry Pie Picache. (Sunnex)
