Piolo Pascual speaks up on relationship with Shaina Magdayao-A A +A

ACTOR Piolo Pascual said he's been friends with Shaina Magdayao for years and the latter is one girlfriend material.
The two are linked right now after news surfaced that they spend a lot of time together. The rumor was fueled when they attended the Star Magic Ball in September together, and when they were photographed holding hands in a Kapamilya weekend event two weeks ago.
According to Piolo, the "Juan dela Cruz" actress is hardworking, caring and they jive together.
"If there's anyone in this business I want to be in a relationship with, that's Shaina. Mabait siyang tao and wala kang tulak-kabigin dun sa tao," he said in a Cinema News interview aired over the weekend.
Piolo also confirmed that he saw the controversial photos of him with Shaina, but he doesn't have anything to say about it.
"I've seen some of them pero wala akong explanation sa mga iyon. Ganun lang naman talaga kami and we've been friends for a very long time. Things just happen and kung saan man papunta 'yun, hindi natin alam," said Piolo.
Piolo and Shaina had worked in "Lobo," "On The Job," and attended other show biz functions together and are both part of the Star Magic family.
But Piolo said matters of the heart are the least of his priorities. His only focus now is work and son Inigo.
"Seloso 'yung anak ko and ayaw niyang may girlfriend ako. That's one reason kaya hindi rin ako makapag-all the way kasi minsan ko na nga lang makita 'yung anak ko, tapos bibigyan ko pa ng ibang trabaho yung sarili ko, wala na akong oras for him," Piolo said.
Meanwhile, Inigo is also starting to build his own name in show business. He will star in independent movie "Relax, It's Just Pag-Ibig" under Piolo's film outfit SpringFilms.
Directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, the said movie is his son's first foray in acting. Piolo said he supports Inigo's endeavors, but he wants him to finish his studies first.
"The only reason that I allow him to do the indie film is because usapan namin ng producer na walang promo and walang live guestings. And he (Inigo) could use it for credit points for college, para magkaroon siya ng scholarship. Hindi ko talaga mapipigilan pero ako talaga, pag-aaral muna ang tapusin niya," said the actor.
If he gets to choose what career his son will pursue in the future, Piolo said he prefer him doing other things (than acting).
The actor explained that he doesn't want his son to experience the cruel life in show biz. Piolo said he's just being protective of Inigo.
Piolo said, "Hindi biro mag-artista. Hindi biro 'yung trade off niya, hindi biro 'yung papasukin mong intriga and wala ka ng time para sa sarili mo. More than anything, it's the cruelty of the people around you na bilang bata siya, I want to protect him from it kasi pinagdaanan ko."
"Kahit sino namang magulang ayaw nilang pagdaanan ng anak nila yung (panget) na pinagdaanan nila. Para sa akin it would be nicer if may iba siyang field na mapili pero kung pag-arte talaga ang gusto niya, susuportahan ko naman siya," he added.
The actor also said that with all the ill things said about him, he learned not to get affected by nasty comments and keep doing what he does best.
"Hindi ko hinahayaan na ma-consume ako nun. Dito ako nag sign-up, ito yung trabaho ko, kasama 'yun and hindi mawawala 'yun. People just don't know me enough," he ended. (Sunnex)
