Charice mounts concert to help Boholanos-A A +A

SINGING sensation Charice will hold a benefit concert next month for the earthquake victims in the province of Bohol.
Dubbed as "One Voice," the said event will be held on November 5 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.
Charice said it will be a night filled with different music from different genres, non-stop performances and one big cause, to help those who were greatly affected by the magnitude-7.2 earthquake.
The Filipino international singer added that right after the quake hit Bohol and its neighboring provinces in Visayas and Mindanao, she immediately thought of ways to help the place.
She shared that with the help of her manager, Glen Aldueza, they immediately called people who could mount the project.
When asked why she considers Bohol as very close to her heart, Charice said she had developed a connection with the place when she visited the province few months back.
The singer said the people of Bohol "treated me like I'm from there. Like I'm one of them."
She said unlike other places, Boholanos never judged her gender preference and accepted her with open arms. She also gets to be herself when she's in the province.
Walang alinlangan. I came out, they know I'm gay, yet ganun parin yung treatment nila. I need to treasure that."
"Na touch ako with the way they treated me.
Charice said the realization that she wanted to live in Bohol, more than to settle down in the United States, made her happier, more relaxed and eager to visit the province again.
"At first akala ko talaga sa US, doon ako mag settle. Kasi dati amaze na amaze ako na gusto ko doon tumira, pero ngayon na nagkakaroon ako ng chance to travel here in the Philippines, the more na na-realize ko na the best parin to stay here," she added.
Charice will be joined by her girlfriend, Alyssa Quijano, during the "One Voice" concert. (Sunnex)
