QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino said she still admires her brother, President Benigno Aquino III, despite criticisms about his administration's so-called slow response in typhoon-hit areas.
During the recent "My Little Bossings" press conference, Kris admitted that nasty words said about her brother initially bothered her. The Chief Executive, however, told the television host to just ignore them.
"The fact na until now he enjoys the trust of the people... Malaki na siya. Kasi pag nagiging emotional ako and nagte-text ako sa kaniya, siya ang nagsasabi na relax. E di okay lang. (Sasabihin niya) 'Kristina relax, dedma (just pretend you are unaware of anything)," Kris said.
President Aquino received a barrage of criticisms due to his government's supposed slow reaction in areas devastated by super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). Yolanda, the strongest cyclone to hit land this year, killed more than 5,000 people and displaced millions others.
Kris said that she doesn't have to defend her brother, as she claimed that his actions speak louder than any criticism.
She said her brother is competent to do his job.
"You don't become immune but you become stronger. He's been through everything, this year alone lahat napagdaanan na. Bilib talaga ako sa pagkatao niya na he has not changed," she added.
Meanwhile, Kris is thankful to everyone, especially to her corporate sponsors for donating cash and in kind to the victims of super typhoon.
"I've been so blessed na may tiwala sa akin 'yung mga tao and endorsements ko na tinurn nila from Kris TV to Sagip Kapamilya (ang tulong nila) and tuluy-tuloy talaga," she said.
Kris added, "It was that one thank you na ginawa ko that paved the way na parang everybody else sumunod sa yapak."
The Queen of Talk said she will not hesitate to use her voice to inspire and encourage her countrymen to help not just the victims of Yolanda, but also others who are also in need.
To recall, Kris and actress Angel Locsin recently visited Concepcion, Iloilo to deliver relief to 33,000 affected families in the province.
Kris also went to Eastern Samar with best friend, King of Talk Boy Abunda, to provide basic needs to typhoon victims. (Sunnex)
