PAROKYA ni Edgar lead vocalist Chito Miranda is keen to tie the knot with girlfriend Neri Naig.
During the launch of the band's newest album "Bente" under Universal Records, Miranda shared his intention to have a family and grow old with the 28-year-old television personality.
"Ever since plan ko na 'yun. I hate talking about personal life on TV kasi it's corny when you talk about love because it's something to be discussed with personal people. When you're in a relationship, you always think that this would be it," the band's frontman said.
Chito said he is proud of Neri on how she handled all the intrigues when sex videos of them went viral on the Internet.
"She's unbelievably strong but not thick-skinned. She took it hard. kumbaga sa boxing nasuntok siya nang malakas. Inilalabas ko talaga siya to show her that the world isn't as harsh as social media," he said.
Miranda added, "People bash her, judge her, and are self-righteous. I tell her to go out and look at the world and find that it's still a beautiful place -- people are still loving and compassionate."
He also believes that having work when the issue came out helped the both of them, especially Naig, to carry on with their normal lives.
The vocalist is thankful to everyone, especially their respective close friends and families, who understood their situation and never abandoned their side during the difficult time.
"(At first) she didn't want to work muna, but the networks, they told her na we don't care about that. They say that we want you to be in the show, no matter how big or small the role is. They were all very supportive, like our friends, they didn't make an issue out of it," she said.
As for him, Chito said it was a nerve-wracking moment to perform again on stage after the controversy, but the audience let him feel welcome again and were there to listen to his music.
"People showed that wala kaming pakialam sa issue na 'yan. It made me stronger and (in turn) gave me strength to be strong for her," he ended.
The couple is both busy with their respective projects, Naig doing "Obsession" on TV5 while Miranda is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the band. (Sunnex)
