BACOLOD -- More than just a thanksgiving fete for its valued local clients and advertisers, the recently held GMA TV Bacolod Local Sales Partner’s Night was a celebration of life and hope as the event recognized the resilience of every Filipino despite the heartbreaking aftermath of typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas region.
Said occasion was held on November 22 side by side GMA Network’s continuous relief efforts of extending help in the rebuilding of homes and augmenting the daily food needs of the typhoon victims, with the help of GMA TV Central and Eastern Visayas and GMA TV Iloilo, whose scheduled trade events have been cancelled to pave way for the Operation Bayanihan.
This year’s trade events theme was fiesta which GMA Regional TV’s Assistant Vice President for Integrated Marketing Services Oliver Amoroso regarded as “part and bundle of the Filipino culture.” Through good times and bad times, he mentioned, the so-called fiesta or time for fellowship must go on as this would most likely elicit a smile from every Filipino.
True enough, the GMA TV Bacolod Local Sales Partners’ Night did not fail to draw beams from the guests as the event dazzled with the presence of some of the most sought-after Kapuso stars namely Alden Richards who will soon be starring in the upcoming primetime soap Carmela, Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose, Bubble Gang cast member Andrea Torres, and RnB Princess Kyla. The program was hosted by comedians Pekto and Boobay.
Also in attendance was the team making up GMA TV Bacolod’s first news and public affairs show Isyu Subong Negrense, who, according to the program’s Executive Producer Ashley Liza “has become more and more committed and passionate in producing news stories that touch lives and make a difference.”
Meanwhile, in her speech, Sales and Marketing Officer of GMA TV Bacolod Tina Poblador-Magbojos recalled how 2013 has become a very busy yet productive year for the station, wherein despite the “continued birth pains and various challenges,” they still managed to reach “positive growth and great heights today.”
But what sets apart their brand of programming and entertainment? She went on saying that it is simply because they have a heart that sees them through any earthquake, super typhoon, or any catastrophe, as they continuously drive and push to strive for excellence and offer Serbisyong Totoo.
Further, Magbojos shared how the recent turn of events has humbled them and made them realize the significant role that responsible media plays in nation building.
“It really goes beyond bringing accurate and balanced information so our viewers could make wise and informed decisions. More importantly now than ever, it is to bring our people together, to build linkages where there are gaps, to get our hands dirty, and bring help where it is urgently needed,” she said.
Amoroso, Liza, and Magbojos led the GMA Regional TV group in the thanksgiving celebration for the regional partners in Bacolod who consistently work side by side with the Network in all its endeavours. Meanwhile, the other members of the regional group went to typhoon-stricken areas in the Visayas region to offer humanitarian aid to the victims of Yolanda. (PR)
