Toni on getting married: 'No one, nothing is stopping us'
By Glaiza Jarloc
TELEVISION host Toni Gonzaga said that she and director Paul Soriano can get married anytime they want as they are not bound by anything.
During the press conference of her newest TV sitcom "Home Sweetie Home," the Toni said her contract does not prohibit her to get married.
She added that her parents had already warmed up to the idea that she will eventually settle down and start her own family.
"No one and nothing is stopping. We are waiting for God's perfect time and the ball is really not on my court, it's with him," she said.
According to Toni, she initially wanted to settle down in her mid-20s, but she just let everything take its natural course.
"Gusto ko talaga dati 25. Tapos after noon, ako talaga, 'wag kang mag po-propose' noong 2008, 2009, 2010," said Toni.
She added, "Lagi ko siyang (Soriano) pinipigil, then dumating ako sa point na hindi na kita pipigilin. Kung kailan ma-feel mo sa puso mo and sabi ni Lord na (okay na)."
The 29-year-old host said that she's ready to settle down anytime now.
"Ready na ako kahit anong ibigay sa akin ng life ko ngayon. I've reached a point na whatever life is going to offer me, I'm going to take it. When that time finally happens, that's something I'm going to embrace wholeheartedly," Toni added.
The couple celebrated six Christmases together and this year, Toni said there will be no fancy gifts for each other. She said they are not big on expensive presents and they prefer to invest to the more important stuff.
"Hindi kami ma-material. Yun ang pinagpapasalamat ko, bukod sa tipid sa bulsa ko," she laughingly said and added, "Sabi niya na 'I don't need material things because there are things that I can also buy for myself."
She said, "'Yung commitment, loyalty and honesty ang binuo namin kaya siguro tumagal kami."
This 2014, the television host hopes to achieve a lot of things on a personal and professional level, but said she will lift everything to the Almighty and pray for His guidance.
She knows her parents, sister Alex and Soriano will always be there beside her.
"I will just let it go. I will just accept whatever He's going to give or bless me. Kung ano yung mga ibibigay, gagawin ko na lang yung best ko. His plan is better than mine," Toni ended. (Sunnex)
