ACTOR Sam Milby said it has been a great year for him and he is looking forward to bigger and brighter things in 2014.
In a recent interview with the 29-year-old, Sam ponder on the highlights of his 2013. According to him, work wise, he couldn't ask for more because he's given the best projects this year.
"It was a growth year para sa akin. Nung pumasok ako sa showbiz, PBB (Pinoy Big Brother) lang then paglabas, yun na yun. I had an off-season kasi for two years, wala akong teleserye and one movie lang. Then this year, ang daming blessings," he said.
This 2013 alone, Sam topbilled afternoon series "Kahit Konting Pagtingin" opposite Angeline Quinto and starred in primetime series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" with Kc Concepcion and Judy Ann Santos.
Sam said doing the evening series with Juday is one of the highlights of his showbiz career. He not only starred with the Queen of Teleserye, but was also given an opportunity to show a different side of him.
"This is the year that I feel very blessed to have given the roles na hindi ko pa nagagawa. First time ko to do gray character on television," said Sam.
Aside from his boob tube projects, he was part of Star Cinema's "Four Sisters and a Wedding" with Toni Gonzaga, Angel Locsin and Bea Alonzo, and did independent movie "Death March."
He's also included in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry "Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel" opposite ace comedienne Eugene Domingo.
According to Sam, he's proud to cap the year with the MMFF movie because it's different from his usual genre.
In the said film, he managed to do action scenes with Eugene.
"Ang hilig ko talaga is doing a lot of movements. Nag wrestling ako nung high school, nag karate ako in college and nag muay thai ako dito. I enjoy doing action scenes and yun ang pinaka madali para sa akin."
As for the new year, Sam is aiming for bigger things.
"After doing 'Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala,' gusto ko mas challenging pa and ayoko na bumalik sa mga roles na ginawa ko dati," he said.
The actor is keen to do an album, his last of which was released in 2011, and star in a Kapamilya teleserye.
Sam also confirmed that he will be doing another movie opposite former girlfriend Anne Curtis and co-ABS-CBN talent Cristine Reyes.
"I'm excited. I think 2014 will be another great year for me," he ended. (Sunnex)
