KAPAMILYA actress Maja Salvador revealed she was hurt by negative comments thrown at her blossoming romance with boyfriend Gerald Anderson.

The 25-year-old become emotional in "Buzz ng Bayan" on Sunday when asked by King of Talk Boy Abunda if she still get affected when people questions or disagree with her relationship with Gerald.

The actress said she values the opinion of the public, but what's more important is the support and understanding she received from closed friends and loved ones.

Pero wala tayong magagawa kundi respetuhin 'yun," she said.

Last January 4, Maja surprised many when she posted a photo-video of her and Gerald in image-sharing application Instagram.

She accompanied the said post with a line in Yeng Constantino's single "Habambuhay."

Maja wrote: "Habambuhay ikaw at ako ang magkasama. #believe"

The actress said all is well between them and she's hopeful that the relationship will stand the test of time.

Pero bandang huli, alam mong magiging worth it ang lahat," Maja said.

She added, "Hindi mo kailangan ma-pressure sa kung ano man meron kayo. Kung kayo talaga, mag-work 'yun."

Meanwhile, Maja said she doesn’t have qualms portraying the mistress in the upcoming primetime series "The Legal Wife" opposite Angel Locsin and Jericho Rosales.

According to the actress, without directly pointing at the controversy she went through with former best friend Kim Chiu, the plot of the show is different from what transpired in real life.

(Sunnex)
