KAPUSO actress Max Collins will topbill GMA-7's newest television series "Innamorata."

The show, which tackles love and conquering ones insecurities, struggles and fear, is the actress' first starring role in an afternoon series.

"I'm really happy with this role because in my entire seven years in the business, this is the biggest I've been given. So, sobrang happy ako and I couldn't ask for anything more," the 21-year-old actress said.

She said that "Innamorata" came as a surprise to her because she was first tapped to star in "Carmela," another teleserye topbilled by Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.

When she was pulled out from the primetime series, the management told her that she will be doing another program.

"Hindi ko alam kung ano yung project, basta ang alam ko there's something else for me. Nung una nalungkot ako then when I found out after a few weeks na sa Innamorata ako, I'm very, very happy," she said.

She didn't hesitate to accept the role when it was offered to her.

"Nagdasal talaga ako. Sabi ko whatever decision of my management is, I will go along with it and I will trust them or the decision of GMA. Sana whatever it is, it's better or just as good and it's a great project," she added.

As the entire production team and the rest of the cast are gearing up for the premiere of "Innamorata," Max said she is nervous of what the people might say about her performance. She said that she wants to give a convincing performance and won't let her network and supporters down.

"Sobrang kabado na kasi gusto ko siyempre mag rate yung show, magustuhan ng audience yung performance ko and mabigyan ko ng justice yung character ko. Marami talaga akong iniisip when it comes to the show and sana maganda lang talaga ang comments," she added.

Collins will share the small screen with leading man Luis Alandy.

Other cast members of the program include Jackie Rice, Dion Ignacio, Gwen Zamora, Juan Rodrigo, Leandro Baldemor, Rita Avila, Pinky Amador and seasoned actor Michael De Mesa.

"Innamorata" will premier on February 17 on GMA afternoon block. (Sunnex)
