"IT'S Showtime" host Coleen Garcia is keen to take things slow with suitor, singer/dancer Billy Crawford.

In a Cinema News interview aired over the weekend, Coleen said they are still in the getting-to-know stage.

"I really want to take my time. Based from what I've been through before, I just want to be sure of things. I realized that there's always time. There's no need to rush," she said.

Coleen also clarified reports that they celebrated the holidays together in New York City.

To recall, photos of them watching a basketball game surfaced on the Internet. This further triggered speculations that something romantic is going on between them after Coleen was tagged as the reason behind Billy's break-up with actress Nikki Gil.

Coleen said Billy came to the US alone and coincidentally shared the same flight with her manager, Star Magic head Johnny Manahan.

Billy, in a separate interview, said he invited Coleen to the game and planned to spend some time with her. Coleen though was with a friend.

"Mali kasi yung lumabas. He (Manahan) can vouch for me na hindi talaga kami magkasama. Yung lumabas kasi ay sobrang pangit at nabigla ako. At that time, parang ako yung laging nagsasalita and my words were taken out of context. So I didn't want to talk for a long time," she said.

The television host clarified that they started talking in the last quarter of 2013 after Billy came back to Manila from a short trip in the States.

"I used to get really hurt because pare-pareho na (yung mga binibintang). These people don't know what they're talking about. I can explain myself over and over again and I still get edited out," she said.

"At the end of the day, alam ko naman na tama ‘yung ginagawa ko at wala akong tinatapakan na tao, wala akong ginagawang masama, I don't have to worry about anything," Coleen said. (Sunnex)
