QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino and ex-husband cager James Yap have finally settled their differences for the sake of only child, James Jr. (also known as Bimby).
On Wednesday, the estranged couple met at the Makati Regional Trial Court and reached a "long term" agreement on the visitation rights of the cager to their six-year-old son.
James is now allowed to see Bimby once a week starting March 7.
"Thank you na naayos na at sana tuloy tuloy na. Salamat kay Kris na talagang okay na lahat. Nagpapasalamat ako sa pagpapalaki niya sa anak ko," he said in an interview aired in "Aquino & Abunda Tonight."
"Nakikita ko talaga na mabait and tama yung pagpapalaki. Na-appreciate ko naman. Sisikapin ko na mapantayan yung ginagawa niya sa anak namin," he added.
Aquino, for her part, said she waited for this event to come.
"Gusto ko talaga to move on from all of these. To move on with a happy and peaceful heart. And thank you kay James for acknowledging na naging mabuting magulang (ako), lalo na pag nasa poder mo. It takes maturity from both of us to be able to reach this point," she said.
The Queen of Talk added that it was quite a journey for her and Yap and their main goal now is to provide a healthy environment for their son.
"It's a four year journey. Our relationship was not blessed with a happy ending but from today onward, and I believe with God's grace, bibigyan naman kami ng 'and they lived happily ever after," she said.
"We have one goal, to be good parents to Bimb and to make sure he'll be good, productive, responsible and loving human being."
As to Yap, Aquino said she's happy that the basketball star has finally found his special someone. The television host also hinted that she's in love nowadays.
"James, sincerely, I'm happy for the happiness you're experiencing now. I think you will agree with me na naka-jackpot talaga tayo kay Bimb. Pinagkaloob na sa akin ng Diyos ang napakamalaking blessings and pinakamalaki na doon si Josh and Bimb." (Sunnex)
