KAPAMILYA actress Julia Montes doesn't mind playing second fiddle to Kim Chiu in upcoming primetime drama series "Ikaw Lamang" with Teleserye King Coco Martin.

Some fans are commenting that Montes seemed relegated from leading lady status to support in the new on-screen team-up of Chui and Martin even if she had two successful projects with the actor.

During the recent grand press launch of the series, the 18-year-old actress explained that for her, the project weighs more than her character.

On my part, nung nalaman ko na ganito yung project, go na ako. And makasama yung ganito kagagaling, sino naman ang aayaw.

When asked if she felt left out now that Martin, who used to be her leading man in "Walang Hanggan" and Star Cinema movie "A Moment in Time," is paired with Kim, the young actress explained that change is constant in show business.

She also pointed out that Chui started ahead of her and the Cebuana actress deserves all the recognition and respect she receives now.

Montes is also confident to take on this new role because Dreamscape, one unit in ABS-CBN Drama, and the Kapamilya network reiterated their support on her.

She's thankful for this another big project after doing "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" in 2013.

"Kaya hindi ko iniisip yung mga sinasabi nila na support lang ako kasi alam ko from Dreamscape and yung network, andoon yung support nila."

"Inaalagaan talaga nila ako and masaya na right after nung last project, konting pahinga lang, ito na ulit.

"Ikaw Lamang" premieres March 10 on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. (Sunnex)
