ACTRESS Carla Abellana on Friday denied the rumors of her break up with boyfriend Geoff Eigenmann.
The 27-year-old actress accepted her Outstanding Performance by an Actress trophy at the 5th Golden Screen TV Awards for the phenomenal gay-themed series "My Husband's Lover."
During the awards night held Friday at the Teatrino Greenhills in San Juan, the entertainment press has noticed that Abellana failed to mention Eigenmann in her acceptance speech, which fueled speculations that she may have split from the actor.
"Hindi naman sa sinadya kong hindi banggitin si Geoff or nakalimutan ko, pero kasi alam naman na niya yun eh. Hindi ko man siya i-mention in front of everyone, alam niyang part siya ng pasasalamat ko and ng family ko," she said during an interview after the awards night.
"Geoff has been part of my life, my career since the beginning. Kahit hindi ko man siya nabanggit, alam niyang part siya nito, part siya ng success ko," she added.
Earlier, the actress confirmed that her relationship with Eigenmann is going through a rough patch but clarified that they are not giving up. Communication lines are always open, she said.
"Okay naman kami pero may kailangan pang ayusin pero nakakaraos every day. Lagi naman kaming magkausap and lagi kaming magka-text. Normal lang naman na magkaroon kayo ng problema sa isang relationship. Normal lang naman na may pinagdadaanan kayo," she said.
When asked if she's aware of the issue linking Eigenmann to his "Adarna" co-star Kylie Padilla and if she saw the interview where Aljur Abrenica, Padilla's boyfriend, discussed issues of respect and boundaries among co-workers, Abellana said she haven't seen the report but certain her boyfriend has nothing to do with it.
"I honestly don't know the side of Aljur. I didn't see his interview but, honestly, being the girlfriend of Geoff Eigenmann and knowing him for the past four, five years, alam ko na deep in my heart, and ng mga katrabaho niya, na walang katotohanan yung iniisip ng iba or kung anong lumalabas," she said.
"I guess na misinterpret siya. Kasi sa 'Adarna' sobrang nag enjoy siya doon at naging family niya yung cast mates niya. Nag bonding sila, nag bike sila, na never ko namang nakita with Geoff before. Ganun siya pag nag enjoy siya, ipapakita niya and ipaparamdam niya," she added.
Abellana also confirmed that Eigenmann and Abrenica already patched things up and cleared their sides on the issue.
She added that if there's any problem in her relationship now, it has nothing to do with Eigenmann's new friendship with his "Adarna" co-star.
"I hold by my believe na there's really no truth to it. Ang tawag sa amin ni Aljur and Kylie ay Ate and Kuya. Dapat andoon lagi yung respect," the actress said. (Sunnex)
