A DIFFERENT Kristoffer Martin will banner in this week's episode of drama anthology "Magpakailanman" as he takes on his first gay role on television.

In a recent interview, Martin shared that he was somewhat hesitant to accept the role as it is new to him and that he was unsure if he is ready for it.

Aside from portraying a gay character, he will be paired up with co-actor Mark Herras in "Siga Noon, Beki na Ngayon."

Kaya ko tinanggap dahil sa material," he said.

He added: "First time ko maging bakla sa role.

According to the 19-year-old actor, he sees himself getting offers to do gay roles but his main concern still lies on his acting ability. Martin said he doesn't want to disappoint his mother network, GMA-7, and most especially the viewing public.

Mabibigyan ko ba ng justice," he said.

"Malinaw sa akin yung passion for acting. Fame is just a bonus na lang talaga.

Martin shared that seasoned actor Michael de Mesa helped him while shooting the said episode and he pegged his character to fellow GMA-7 artist Sef Cadayona.

"Mahirap pag first time, talagang para akong baguhan. Nangangapa pa talaga ako nung una kaya sobrang thankful ko sa tulong ng mga co-actor dito and kay Direk Neal (del Rosario)," he said.

For someone who used to bully his gay classmates in school, Martin said that since he joined show business, he's more acceptable of the third sex. The young actor said that at the end of the day, it is all about respect.

Mas naging at ease ako," he said.

Also joining in this week's special episode are Shamaine Buencamino, Jan Manual, Maricris Garcia, and Bryan Benedict.

"Magkapailanman" airs Saturday after "Vampire and Daddy Ko" only on GMA-7. (Sunnex)
