SEASONED actress Alice Dixson gave her two cents on having children of her own and talked about her first mother role on television.

On May 11, Alice will top bill TV5's special Mother's Day made-for-TV movie entitled "More Than Words" opposite young actress Sarah Lahbati.

The 44-year-old actress will breathe life to the character of Sabel, an ex-convict who was imprisoned for killing the man who sold off her daughter Emily, played by Sarah, to a rich family.

Despite her shyness and fear of rejection, Sabel finds herself opening up to Emily, who is also drawn by this mysterious woman who seems to live in a world of silence. Sarah's character will then teach Sabel (Dixson) the basics of reading and writing -- something new to her as she grew up unschooled and had difficulty with words.

According to Dixson, this is her most challenging role to date as she went out of her comfort zone and it's her first time to work with the whole cast.

"This is my first Mother's Day project that was given this much importance, especially (after) I came back. The last three Mother's Day na andito ako, I was in a middle of a series so this is a special project for us," the actress said.

She added: "Mahirap umarte. Mas mahirap umarte na hindi ka makapagsalita ng diretcho. At this moment, this is my hardest role."

On a personal level, Dixson shared the drama project is close to her heart as she also longs to become a mother.

"I wish I was. I've been open about it and naiinggit ako sa mga moms kasi iba yung mom's love, hindi ko na-experience 'yun, to have my own (child). I wish I had that also," she said.

To recall, Dixson was married for 13 years to businessman Ronnie Miranda but the ex-couple were not blessed with a child.

It was February last year when the actress confirmed her separation from Miranda, who currently lives in Canada, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason of the demise of their marriage.

Now that she's single again, Dixson was asked if she's open to adoption.

She replied: "I have an adopted brother and we didn't keep it a secret from him. He's half my age and in fact napagkakamalan siya noon na anak ko. For me to adopt, hindi ko pa 'yun napag-iisipan and it's not a priority for now."

"I think I would like to have a child naturally if ever. And if it doesn't come, it doesn't come," she said.

If she'll become a mother, Dixson said she wants to be always open and available to her child. She will also instill the values her own parents thought her.

As for her love life, the actress is keeping mum on the identity of the guy she's dating now. What was only disclosed by Dixson in a prior interview is that she's dating a businessman who is also around her age.

"You never know who the right guy is. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't and you'll have a kid... a gift. It can be the right guy, it can be the wrong guy. Hindi mo talaga alam," she said.

"More Than Words," which also features Carl Guevarra, Jackielou Blanco and Ariel Rivera, will air May 11 at 9 p.m. on TV5. (Sunnex)
