COMEDIENNE Ai-Ai delas Alas confirmed that she will run for public office in the 2016 national elections.

In an interview by Cinema News aired over the weekend, the Kapamilya actress shared she had consulted actress turned politician Batangas Governor Vilma Santos regarding her political ambition.

Delas Alas said she wanted to run for local position three years ago but Santos advised her to think her plan through.

"Matagal na yun, three years ago pa kaya lang nung kinausap ko si Ate Vi, sabi niya, 'Ai, kung hindi ka pa ready by heart, 'wag muna'. Ngayon ready na ako, so game na," she said.

The comedian did not reveal what position she is interested in.

Meanwhile, Ai-Ai confirmed that eldest son, Sancho, is interested in joining showbiz.

Sancho auditioned for "Pinoy Big Brother All In," but he failed to secure a spot in the reality program.

"Siguro may ibang plan si God para kay Sancho. Sabi ko sa anak ko na siguro hindi yun for you. Ang dream niya kasi mag-artista and noon hindi ko siya pinapayagan kasi nga nag-aaral. Ngayong tapos na siya, kahit anong path ang gusto niya, pwede na," she said.

De las Alas also hinted that ABS-CBN is interested in tapping her son for a possible drama project. (Sunnex)
