ACTRESS Ruffa Gutierrez shared she’s still open to dating younger men.

"Age is just a number. It doesn't matter," was the reply of the former beauty queen when members of the entertainment press noticed that she was in a relationship or linked to younger men from in and out of show business.

Ruffa's former husband Yilmaz Bektas is three years younger than her, while former flame John Lloyd Cruz is 30 years old.

Ruffa, 39, said even though she’s a few years older than some of her exes, age was never the reason or factor in the collapse of the relationship.

"You get along and compatible naman kayo, you treat each other as equal, then it doesn't matter anymore. It's not because of age kaya hindi nagwork, it's because of certain personalities they have. Age shouldn't stop people from falling in love," she said.

But how young is young? Ruffa replied: "As long as hindi naman teenager. Depende naman iyon sa maturity ng tao. If he's a few years younger or few years older, okay lang naman iyon."

When asked if she’s dating now, the mother of two said she’s single but did not hide the fact that she’s going out every now and then.

"We should always make time for love because love gives us inspiration. It makes us happy, laugh and smile. Importante rin naman na may inspirasyon tayo sa buhay. Inspired ako. Marami akong textmates. Maraming nagpapakilig sa akin. Dalaga naman ako. I'm officially single," she said.

How does she balance her life as an actress and a mother to daughters Lorin and Venice? Ruffa said time management is the key.

She’s also not in a hurry to settle down.

"Wala akong time maghanap. Sila ang maghanap sa akin. I'll never grow old alone. I'll grow old with my family and kids and someone's gonna hold my hands. I believe in that," she said.

Ruffa and the rest of the Gutierrez clan will be featured in “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez” starting June 1 on E! (Sunnex)
