ACTRESS Angel Locsin is contented with how hit primetime series "The Legal Wife" ended and happy that she was able to inspire a lot of women to stand for their rights.

Last Friday, June 13, the Kapamilya program aired its final episode dubbed as the "End of an Affair".

The open-ended series finale came as a surprise to many avid viewers as Locsin's character, Monica, decided to go back to the United States to heal from heartbreaks and disappointments. Adrian, played by Jericho Rosales, accepted his wife's decision and said he will wait for her.

According to Locsin, she's happy with how it ended as they wanted to give the audience a realistic take on how families or couples handle things when they go through the same situation.

"Lahat (ng ibang series) parang nagtatagpo ang grand finale in a big wedding, pero ang gusto namin dito yung meron paring hope. Hindi natin tinatanggal sa mga tao na kapag mahal mo ang isang tao, magkakaroon ng way 'yan para magkabalikan kayo, pero kailangan mo munang mahalin ang sarili mo," she said during the "Promil pre-school iShine Talent Camp" launch.

She added that her character needs fixing before reconciling again with her husband.

Locsin hopes she was able to channel the message clearly to women that they need to love themselves first before committing to others.

As to those who look up to her character in the series, the Kapamilya star said she is happy that in her small way, she was able to inspire others.

"The Legal Wife" also featured JC de Vera and Maja Salvador. (Sunnex)
