AFTER the successful Christening of Baby Zion last Sunday, tension is allegedly brewing between the family of showbiz couple Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati.

On Monday, Esther Lahbati, mother of Sarah, took to Instagram to air her disappointment over the baptism cum birthday party of her grandson Zion.

On her Instagram post, which has already been deleted, Mrs. Lahbati said it was painful to be ignored in the party for her grandson.

She wrote: "The truth! Masakit ang ma ignore sa party. Hindi naman pwede pera pera na lang ang lagi nangingibabaw. Para lang makilala sa lipunan. 'Pag wala ka pera di ka kilala."

Mrs. Lahbati also claimed that someone told her "magbalot ka ng mga tirang pagkain diyan."

"Pinarinig pa sa mga bata, grabe! Naawa ako sa sarili ko. The whole party hindi ako pinansin tapos para ako patay gutom na aalukin ng tira pagkain," she added.

Comments of Sarah's father, Abdel Lahbati, also surfaced on the internet, clarifying that Zion is still a "Lahbati" as it is the official name written on his birth certificate.

The entertainment press caught up with Gutierrez at the "Overtime" press launch on Tuesday to get his side of the story.

The proud father said he does not know how to answer the issue as he is still on high with the successful Christening and birthday of Zion.

"Katatapos lang ng napakasaya naming celebration and very positive ang party ni Baby Zion, maganda yung pagtanggap sa kanya. Ngayon nag concentrate kami sa positivity. Kung ano man ang nangyaring misunderstanding or miscommunication, aayusin namin yun within the family and we will move from that. We will stay positive," he said.

Gutierrez clarified that he is close to Lahbati's parents and they have been helpful to them when his girlfriend was still pregnant with their son.

"From day one, I looked up to them and I consider them as family and vice versa. They accepted me also and they have guided Sarah and I all throughout this process. Andyan sila lagi sa amin kaya Sarah and I are very thankful," he said.

Sarah Lahbati, for herself, also took Instagram to post a photo of her parents, boyfriend and Zion. She said they will settle the misunderstanding within the family and move forward from the it.

"We have gone through a lot in the past year and a half. Both the Lahbati's and the Gutierrez's had to go through lots of obstacles and sacrifices to be able to help Chard and I deal with our problems. Now that all the dust has settled, everyone is happy that we have a new family member, baby Zion," she said.

She added: "He is such a blessing to us. Zion has brought so much joy to our lives, everybody wants to spend time with him. Like any other family we have misunderstandings but we will settle this internally and we will move forward. I hope that we can all live in harmony. Accept, support and understand one another for the sake of baby Zion." (Sunnex)
