Anne Curtis one of smartest celebrities on Twitter-A A +A
Thursday, July 17, 2014
TIME Magazine named actress Anne Curtis as one of the sharpest celebrities on Twitter.
The "Dyesebel" lead star, who has close to 6.7 million followers on the micro-blogging website, ranked number 28 in a list dominated by big figures in Hollywood.
Curtis, who received a grade level of 6.2, came behind English tycoon Lord Sugar (#27) and edges ahead of talent manager Scooter Braun (#29), Latin superstar Ricky Martin (#30), A.R. Rahman (#31), and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling (#32).
Curtis is the only Filipino who made it in the ranking.
According to the magazine's website, the listing is based on a reading comprehension test known as Simple Measure of Gobbledygook or SMOG.
They analyzed the last 20 tweets from the 500 most followed celebrities on Twitter to calculate who is the smartest online.
"The SMOG test measures the number of three syllable words used in a text to calculate the years of education required to understand it," the website said.
"SMOG is intended for processing English, so users tweeting in multiple languages were removed. Computer processing of natural language has its limitations. For example, the SMOG test can falsely read slang as multi-syllable words," it added.
The TIME ranking was topped by "World of Wall Street" actor Leonardo DiCarpio who has 10.5 million followers and got the highest grade rate of 7.5.
Also included in the list are comedian/host Jimmy Kimmel, American punk rock band Green Day, actors Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Spacey, and Eva Longoria, singers Jessie J., Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and television host Oprah Winfrey. (Sunnex)
