Domingo, who took home an acting award last October at the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival for the same movie, was also nominated in the Best Actress category.

"Barber's Tales" (Mga Kwentong Barbero) is Lana's second in a trilogy of films about small town Philippines that started with "Bwakaw" in 2012.

The movie is set in a remote province in the country at the onset of martial law in the early 1970s.

The story revolves around the free-spirited and newly widowed Marilou, played by Domingo, who inherited from her husband their town's only barbershop.

Other stars featured in the movie are Gladys Reyes, Shamaine Buencamino, Nonie Buencamino, Niccolo Manolo, Iza Calzado, and Eddie Garcia.
