CRISTINE Reyes is keen to clean her sexy image both on television and movies.

In a recent interview with the 24-year-old actress, Reyes said there is a disconnect between her Christian faith and doing daring scenes on the big or small screen, which are being watched by millions of audience.

She feels that this is the right time to change her image, as she is more established now as an actress.

She added that her latest flick "The Trophy Wife," opposite Heart Evangelista, John Estrada and Derek Ramsay, will be her last sexy movie.

"Gusto ko na talaga mag-iba ng path. Nung 2011, I don't think it's the right time to do that. Now I know this is the right time," she said.

"I'm also planning my future. What really triggered me is that I'm going every Sunday to Church. I feel na baka sabihin ng mga tao na, 'what are you doing here when you are doing that?’ Hindi siya nagco-connect. If you want to follow God and if you want to be a good Christian, do it in real life. It’s really a personal decision," she further said.

Reyes added she is not afraid that her mother station, ABS-CBN, and management team, VIVA, will have difficulty finding her suitable roles as she is ready to explore drama and comedy.

She is confident that work will still be there and she will receive the same support from family, friends and the viewing public.

"I'm not really scared of backing off because I know may makukuha parin akong trabaho at hindi ako papabayaan ng VIVA and ABS-CBN. Kahit mag support role ako, okay lang sa akin," she said.

"Gusto ko mag concentrate sa drama… intense drama and also comedy. Gusto ko talaga ng comedy because I enjoy doing that. Sinabi din ng fans sa akin na they will support me whatever my decision is," she added.

When asked if her Persian suitor influenced her to change her mind, Reyes quickly clarified that shifting to drama and comedy is a personal decision. She said no one has influenced her.

Meanwhile, when pressed on her romantic life, the actress said all is well between her and the guy she is exclusively dating but the unidentified suitor is still not used to her being a public figure.

Reyes said that the suitor sometimes feels awkward when someone stops them in public places, but he is coping well.

"Dito siya lumaki sa atin. Pinoy din naman siya. At first parang awkward siya kasi alam niyang artista. Minsan magkasama kaming dalawa tapos may magpapa-picture. Ngayon, nasanay na siya. Medyo (natanggap na niya)," she added.

"The Trophy Wife" opens July 30 in cinemas nationwide. (Sunnex)
