QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino became emotional during the fifth State of the Nation Address of her older brother, President Benigno Aquino III, at the House of Representatives in Quezon City on Monday.

The television host-actress was moved to tears when the President recalled the 1987 ambush that nearly killed him during the administration of their late mother, President Corazon Aquino, and the murder of their father, Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino Jr.

"The Filipino is worth dying for. The Filipino is worth living for. Idadagdag ko na po, the Filipino is definitely worth fighting for," said President Aquino, as he gave a new twist to his late father's famous line, "The Filipino is worth dying for."

Interviewed after the Sona, the Queen of All Media said she did not want to hear anything bad that could happen to her brother, who turned emotional towards the end of his one hour and 31 minutes speech before members of Congress.

"Every night ipinagdadasal namin ang kalusugan niya. Ayaw namin naririnig yung mga sinasabi niya kung hanggang dito na lang," the television host said. "Gusto ko umabot siya sa point na yung mga anak ni Bimby, maabutan pa niya."

Hours later, Kris said on her late night program "Aquino & Abunda Tonight" on ABS-CBN that she told her only brother to "please stay alive".

She revealed that she was motional on Monday's event as the family will commemorate her mother's fifth death anniversary on August 1 and her father's assassination on August 21.

"We don't like August. Both our parents died (in) August. Bilang kapatid niya, you just pray that he can do the best job he can," she said.

Meanwhile, the Queen of Talk chose Cebu designer Cary Santiago to dress her up for the annual address.

Santiago is the go-to-designer of Aquino for formal functions and events. He dressed the Presidential sister during the state dinner for United States President Barack Obama at Malacanang Palace last April.
