Thursday, July 31, 2014
COLEEN Garcia said she and Billy Crawford officially became a couple after the television host's recent weeklong trip abroad.
The "It's Showtime" host recalled that Crawford trip to the United States made her miss the singer immensely.
"He was there for a week and we didn't talk to each other. Then, I realized, okay I miss him. He used to ask me, like every day, if I can be his girlfriend," she shared at the YES! 100 Most Beautiful Stars event.
Garcia added: "When I picked him up at the airport, dun ko lang na-feel na parang I guess, I realized din naman that nakaka-miss din pala siya."
Contrary to rumors, the 21-year-old actress reiterated that it was only last July 23 when she said "yes" to Crawford.
"At that stage, you don't just wake up and feel different, na okay I'm ready to be your girlfriend. Siyempre, nag-develop 'yun over time and we just decided to give it a label," she said.
Garcia said they were never in a hurry before but when he came back, she just felt that it was the right time for them to formalize everything.
"It's something that I’ve been thinking about also. I like to over think. I'm just thinking and thinking. Siyempre, I don't want to make din the same mistakes that I made in the past. I'm very careful when it comes to my decisions," she said.
"I wasn't in rush, I was really thinking na walang rush because there’s no pressure to put a label on it. We see each other every day so we have all the time in the world. We have the time to get to know each other."
The TV host also disclosed that both their families are supportive of their young relationship. The Crawfords and Garcias also met even before they became officially a couple.
Garcia added that ever since Billy came into her life, she reconnected with her family.
"Palagi niyang kasama ang family ko. Siya pa yung nagyayaya na we go to my dad. I think he brought me closer pa to my family kasi I’ve been living alone for years na. I don’t get to see my family that often, kapag may family gatherings lang," she said.
"We have a group chat on social media so we talk regularly. They know that Billy is such a good guy and they really take good care of me. More than anything, he values my family so much," she added.
While she is happy now with her blossoming romance with Crawford, Garcia still could not get rid of questions relating to her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, Kapamilya actress Nikki Gil.
Even though she said countless times that, she is not the reason behind Crawford and Gil's split, some are still speculating on how and when her closeness with the tv host started.
Garcia said she and Crawford have moved on from the issue and even attended one event where Gil was also present.
"We were in the same event once sa Style Origins. We actually didn't see each other kasi I was in the standby area with all the other artists. I don't know where she stayed. Billy was there also."
She said there was never a chance that they bumped into each other but if ever their paths cross, Garcia said she will still be polite and respectful.
"I was brought up naman to be polite and respectful to everyone no matter what. And wala namang away or anything. There’s absolutely bad vibes," Coleen ended. (Sunnex)
