Maine Mendoza relishes showbiz success

TWO years since her name shot to fame, Maine Mendoza still couldn't believe that she is one of the hottest properties in show business.

She regularly appears in noontime variety program "Eat Bulaga," did several movies, recently top billed a teleserye, and one of the country's top endorsers, but amid all these, Mendoza still couldn't believe her luck.

"Parang hindi ko pa rin ma-fathom kung ano ba ang meron. Bakit ako? Honestly, hindi ko alam. Parang isang question sa akin 'yun na hindi ko masasagot," she said.

She credits the success of her on-screen team up with Alden Richards to their loyal fans. The television personality said it all went so fast for her and her leading man.

"Siguro dahil na din ito sa mga sumusuporta sa amin ni Alden na very supportive sa mga ini-endorse namain. Kapag nakikita na may bago akong endorsement, talaga sinusuportahan (nila)," she added.

But contrary to what some may perceive as an easy job, Mendoza maintains that it takes a lot of hard work to stay in the industry.

She said it may look easy in front of the camera, but there's a lot to be done behind it.

"Akala siguro ng iba, madali siya, very relaxed. Akala nila puro glitz and glamour, na walang paghihirap sa ganitong buhay. Ito yung isang bagay na hindi ka dapat malunod kasi pana-panahon lang din naman siya."

That's why Mendoza is thankful to everyone who appreciated the job she's done and continuously follows the work she does.

She's also grateful to brands like CDO Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino that are constantly supporting her showbiz career.

"Nakakatuwa kasi patuloy pa rin silang nagtitiwala sa akin. First year ko pa lang sa showbiz, nakuha na nila ako. Hanggang ngayon, parang isa sila sa mga unang endorsements ko at nagtiwala talaga," she added.

CDO Funtastyk and Mendoza launched a new campaign on Monday, June 19, as a way of celebrating their two-year partnership.

"Very unique ng concept and I think it's very fresh for the consumers and for the viewers to see this kind of campaign."

Mendoza said she's happy with what's happening in her career now and wants to continue giving entertainment to millions of Filipinos worldwide.

"Sa lahat naman ng bagay, once na reach mo na ang top, mas gusto mo na i-maintain ang ranking. Ang sa akin, habang nasa iyo, i-enjoy mo," she ended. (SunStar Philippines)
