SHOWBIZ couple Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo have turned down several offers to work opposite each other.
This was revealed by the Cebuano actor himself at the recent press conference for his concert "Hey Matteo" slated on November 30 at the KIA Theatre.
Guidicelli explained that they declined the offers because they want to protect the relationship and keep whatever they have private.
"There are more than ten offers, so many offers that we both say 'no' to, because we want to save our relationship. We know the true meaning of our relationship. It's not showbiz, it is real. We want to protect that and we want to save that," he said.
The actor also reacted to those who say that he's just using his girlfriend to further himself in the entertainment business.
Guidicelli said he's not using anyone to gain publicity.
"I just want to clarify that we are never a love team. We don't work together, we don't want people to say. 'Ah, they're using each other' or I sing with her, or we'll do a movie together."
He said it's only inevitable for people to ask him about Geronimo, especially when he's at press conferences, but the actor said he only has good intentions with the Pop Princess.
"These things really happen, in presscons, so it's natural that you talk about these things."
Guidicelli also said that he's doing things on his own – from his hosting gigs, acting stints to his solo musical career.
He said people will always compare, especially when Geronimo has already established herself in the music industry, but he's here to prove the he's got things to share.
"She's into singing, people will always compare, but I'm trying to do my own thing. The challenge is be myself, try to be myself, and do what I want to do. It's a challenge... it's a good challenge."
Geronimo and Guidicelli are dating for four years now. (SunStar Philippines)
