KYLIE, the daughter of action star Robin Padilla, confirmed that her father is not on speaking terms with her fiancée, Aljur Abrenica.
In a recent interview, Abrenica disclosed that Robin is yet to meet his and Kylie's son, Alas Joaquin, since the actress gave birth last August.
Abrenica's statement had received mixed reactions from netizens, with some even criticizing Robin.
Kylie, who is still on leave from show business to take care of her son, said she and Abrenica are partly to blame in the situation.
"Ang tagal ko na kasing tahimik dun sa nangyari kay AJ and my dad. And sa totoo lang, hindi ako nagsasalita kasi hindi ako kumportable. Masyado nang mataga na tahimik ako. Hindi lang naman si Papa at si AJ yung nandito sa sitwasyon na ito. Nandito rin ako," she said in an exclusive PEP.ph interview.
The Kapuso actress confirmed that she and Abrenica went to her father's residence when she was still four to five months pregnant but they haven't seen him.
"Hindi ko alam kung wala siya sa bahay or baka ayaw lang niya talaga kaming harapin. But bilang anak niya, naiintindihan ko 'yun kasi alam ko yung gusto ni Papa," she said.
Kylie said she understands if her father doesn't want to meet them both yet as the actor only wants security for her.
She said Robin wants her and Abrenica to get married.
"Masakit sa akin kasi siyempre gusto kong maging okay na sila. But naiintindihan ko rin. Kailangan mong ibalanse lahat. Kaya kahit nasaktan ako nun, okay, yun yung gusto niya. Rerespetuhin namin," she added.
But on her part, Kylie said there are still a lot of things she and Abrenica need to fix before deciding on tying the knot. She said marriage is a serious decision to make.
"I came from a broken family. So, I know the reality of marriage, hindi lang siya papel, hindi lang siya singsing na isinuot mo, na sinabi mo na kasal na kami. At alam kong kaming dalawa ni AJ, marami pa kaming kailangang ayusin," she said.
Kylie also said that she is also to be blamed for the misunderstanding between Robin and Abrenica as she didn't foresee that being too public about her relationship would create tension between two parties.
She said she could have spoken less if given a choice.
"It wasn't a responsible decision. Ngayon this is what we get. We were really open. Feeling ng mga tao, they have the right to know what's happening next. And we set that up, that's our fault," she added.
Amid the misunderstanding between her father and boyfriend, Kylie said the former never lack in showing his love and care for her and Alas.
As a matter of fact, the seasoned actor was there when she was in labor.
"Si Papa naman, hindi naman siya tumigil sa kaka-reach out. Palagi niya akong kinakamusta kahit hindi pa lumalabas si Alas," she ended. (SunStar Philippines)
