Erik sad over Mark, Rachel network move

DURING the press launch of Star Records newest inspirational album “Sa'yo Lamang,” Sun.Star and other entertainment reporters cornered Erik Santos on his reaction to the transfer of co-singers Mark Bautista and Rachel Anne Go.

The Kapamilya singer admitted that he is sad that two of his closest friends in showbiz moved to another station. Mark and Rachel will join rival network GMA 7.

“I felt sad and until now talagang nalulungkot ako kasi hindi ko na sila makakasama every Sunday sa ASAP pero natutuwa rin ako para sa kanila na masaya sila sa naging desisyon nila,” he said.

Erik added that they are not just friends, but they were able to share a lot of good experiences and memories.

Though the two moved to another station, Erik said they are still in close communication.

He said Mark told him that “he's doing well” in the Kapuso network.

The singer also cleared rumors that there's an uneven treatment to singers and stars in the Kapamilya channel.

He said they don't have any say on the number of songs or segments they are doing because the management is conceptualizing everything.

But when asked if he knows the main reason why the two moved, Erik only has this to say: “Siguro sila na lang tanungin niyo, medyo mahirap sagutin yan. Siguro kasi tinimbang lang nila yung mga offer dito (ABS-CBN) and yung offer sa kabila (GMA), yun lang ang alam ko. Siguro mas naging favor sila sa favor sa kabila."

When asked if he has plans of transferring to another network. Erik immediately said he's happy to be a Kapamilya.

“Hindi naman po natin masabi pero sa ngayon I am okay with the Kapamilya network. Happy naman po ako sa kung anong meron ako. Mahirap din po kasi iwan yung mga taong minahal ko na for seven years.”

Mark is now part of "Party Pilipinas" while Rachel Anne is set to join the program this Sunday.

“Party Pilipinas” is the newest Sunday noontime show of GMA 7 and is the close rival of ABS-CBN’s “ASAP XV”. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
