NOT just construction workers but health workers will also be needed in Guam.
“Aside from construction workers, Guam will also be hiring nurses and other health care workers with the impending relocation of US marines and dependents from Okinawa,” recruitment consultant Manny Geslani said.

Geslani said demand for health care workers will start by 2012 when the relocation has already been completed.
But he said those who are interested to be employed in Guam can start preparing for their requirements now.
“Aspiring Filipino nurses and doctors can now prepare by taking the necessary licensure examinations,” Geslani noted.
He said Guam will not only need doctors and nurses but will also require other health care workers like medical technicians in radiology, cardio labs and CT-Scan; occupational and physical therapists; medical transcriptionists; and medical administrative personnel.
Deployment of Filipino construction workers to Guam is expected to start by the first quarter of 2010.
Last week, Guam officials arrived in Manila for consultations with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce, Philippine Association of Service Exporters Inc. (Pasei), and Philippine Construction Association on the hiring of Filipino construction workers.
But recruitment leaders cautioned workers that at this time that there is still no job orders available for Filipinos aspiring to work in Guam.
Jennifer Manalili, administrator of the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency, earlier said they have to draft first the proposed employment contract that would be acceptable to both parties.
She said they expect thousands of Filipino workers to be deployed to Guam in the first quarter of 2010. (MSN/Sunnex)
