JIL leader hits survey results

PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Bro. Eddie Villanueva criticized on how several survey firms computes their results.

“Bangon Pilipinas supporters have culled a number of reports and complaints that they are being surveyed on the presidential candidate they wanted to vote for but Bro. Eddie’s name is not included in the list,” Villanueva said.

He added that members of the Bangon Pilipinas party have expressed frustrations over the recent survey marks. “They are frustrated and have expressed a growing skepticism on how surveys are conducted.”

The Jesus Is Lord leader cited the experience of his supporter in Barangay Santo Tomas in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

He explained that a polling firm conducted a face-to-face interview in the barangay last September 5, where respondents were shown several cards bearing a list of presidential candidates.

Villanueva said as each card was shown, the respondent was asked, “Nandito po ba ang iboboto ninyong Presidente? (Is the candidate you would vote for in this list?)”

He addedthat after all the cards were shown and the respondent answered “Wala (None),” the interviewer asked the respondent who would be her preferred candidate.

The respondent answered, “Si Bro. Eddie, pero wala sya sa listahan nyo (Bro. Eddie, but he is not in your list).”

The respondent told the interviewer that she and the rest of the interviewers might be surprised since Villanueva has many supporters in the province.

Villanueva however said they respect the results of the surveys but it should be conducted comprehensively.

“Bangon Pilipinas recognizes the value of surveys, election or non-election time. But we hope the process would be more inclusive so that it could reflect the real sentiments of more of our voters,” Villanueva said.
