Aquino to inaugurate luxury bag factory on start impeachment trial

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III will be attending an inauguration of luxury bag factory in his home province in Tarlac on Monday, the first day of the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Accompanied by Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Aquino will lead the inauguration of the D’Luxe Bags Philippines, Inc. in Barangay Sta. Rosa, Concepcion, Tarlac. The facility produces Coach bags, a famous luxury brand.

D’Luxe Bags Philippines, Inc., is one of several companies under Luen Thai Enterprises & Tan Holdings whose chief executive officer is Willie Tan.
Tan had met with the President during his five-day visit to China from August 30 to September 3, 2011 to discuss investment possibilities.
During the inauguration, the President will unveil the plant marker located at the main entrance of the facility's production building 1.
After touring the plant, the President will address some 200 guests composed of officers and employees of the company and local officials who will attend the event.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said although the President will be busy, he will be updated by Malacanang officials about the developments of the impeachment trial.
Besides expanding its Cebu and Clark facilities, Tan also disclosed that LTH is planning to build an apparel and textile mill in Bataan. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
