Palace dismisses demolition job vs Binay

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar Binay have good working and personal relationship, Malacañang said Saturday.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte, in an interview over dzRB Radyo ng Bayan, denied that Malacañang was behind the alleged demolition job against Binay.
"We are not privy where the sentiment of Vice President was coming from...as you all know, the President and the Vice President have good relationship. Obviously, they have good working relationship and even the personal relationship," she said.
Binay has said that there was a demolition campaign against him by those who are "insecure" because of his high survey ratings and who see him as a threat to their own presidential plans in 2016.
The Vice President's allegation was in relation to the audit being conducted by the Commission on Audit on the projects he undertook when he was still the mayor of Makati City.
Valte assured that Malacañang was not behind the alleged demolition job against Binay.
"The Vice President is part of the President's official family and when it comes to the Cabinet, their focus is really on their work," she said.
Asked if Binay was just being paranoid, she said, "We are in no position to judge. So we will not respond to that." (SDR/Sunnex)
