Injured Penafrancia devotees in Quezon bus mishap now 43

MANILA - The devotees of Our Lady of Penafrancia who were hurt in Saturday's bus mishap in Quezon has risen to 43.
Police Officer 1 Samuel Merluza, Calauag Police Station radio operator, said the stricken Silver Star Bus was en route to Naga City, carrying 56 passengers.
The bus driver lost control and the vehicle skidded off Maharlika Highway near Barangay Mulay, Calauag, Quezon, around 2:07 a.m. Saturday.
Bus driver Antonio Baultro immediately fled after the accident.
Initially, 20 persons were reported injured but this has climbed up to 43.
Merluza said all of the victims are residents of San Pedro, Laguna. They are now undergoing treatment at hospitals in the nearby towns of Calauag, Lopez, and Gumaca. (PNA/Sunnex)
