Mayor’s wishes: Completion of City College, long life

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mayor Oscar Rodriguez said he hopes for a long and healthy life and the completion of the City College of San Fernando’s facility here, as part of his wish for his birthday this September 19.

Rodriguez told Sun.Star Pampanga the completion of the city college building will be among the legacy accomplishments of his administration.

Rodriguez is also set to finish his third term as city mayor next year.

The construction of the City College of San Fernando’s main building started early this year. The four-story building of the city college is set to rise inside the 1.7-hectare Heroes Hall grounds here.

“The completion of the building will bring to full realization our goal for quality education that is within the means of our poor students. This will be the start of newer programs and the expansion of the college,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said at this point in his political career, he only wishes for good health and long life. Asked if he will declare his next intentions for the 2013 political race here, Rodriguez said he has yet to decide.

However, talks abound that Rodriguez will run for the third district congressional seat currently held by Representative Aurelio Gonzales, who is also gunning for reelection next year.

Rodriguez said he is currently concentrating on finalizing and accomplishing the remaining programs for this city and the League of Cities of the Philippines where he is also league president.
