Palace announces new government appointees

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has appointed new officials in government offices, including the new deputy director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap).
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte announced Friday the appointment of John Cu Unjieng Andrews replacing John Roa Andrews as deputy director general of Caap.
John Cu's term of office is co-terminus with the appointing authority.
Valte also announced the appointments of Teodulo Romo Jr. as assistant secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Javier Jimenez as acting DSWD assistant Secretary and Felino Castro V as acting director III of the DSWD.
Romo will replace Parisya Taradji, while Jimenez will succeed Mateo Montaño. Castro, on the other hand, will replace Jaime Eclavea.
Aquino likewise appointed Marcelo Nicomedes Castillo and Leonardo Reynoso as Director IV of the DSWD.
Other presidential appointees are Antonio Cailao, Dante Canlas, Bob Gothong, Victor Ziga, Ma. Gladys Sta. Rita, Potenciano Larrazabal Jr., Pedro Aquino Jr. and John Jimenez Arenas as members of the Board of Directors of the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC). Their term of office would end on June 30, 2013.
The President also appointed Cailao as PNOC president and chief executive officer.
He also appointed Ma. Gladys Sta. Rita, Herminio Alcasid Sr., Maria Carmina Cruz, Rizalina Lumbera and Ebert Bautista as the Board of Directors of PNOC-Development and Management Corporation. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
