MANILA -- A judge in Pagadian City has released arrest warrants against persons behind the large investment scam that duped thousands of people last year.
Pagadian City Regional Trial Court branch 20 Judge Dennis Bicoy ordered the arrest of Manuel Amalilio, founder of Aman Futures Group Philippines Inc., and incorporators Fernando Luna, Nimfa Luna, Lelian Lim Gan, Eduardo Lim, Wilanie Fuentes, Naezelle Rodriguez and Lurix Lopez, who are facing charges of syndicated estafa.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) said Thursday that Aman allegedly defrauded five investor-complainants P46,665,069.56.
In the second complaint, the DOJ also found probable cause to indict the same respondents for gypping investors of the sum of P43,241,267.22, including interests.
But this time, the names of Dhurwen Wenceslao and Dona Coyme were included in the arrest warrant also issued by Bicoy.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima previously said that two more cases against Aman and another case involving the Rasuman group, another investment scam group, are up for resolution within the month.
Amalilio has since gone into hiding reportedly in Malaysia. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
