Tiangco mum on Estrada's Wack Wack property-A A +A
Thursday, September 26, 2013
NAVOTAS City Representative Toby Tiangco on Thursday said he has never seen Senator Jinggoy Estrada or his staff in the supposed multi-million property being put up by the senator at Wack-Wack subdivision in Mandaluyong City.
"Categorically, I've never seen him there. Never kaming nagkita doon. Actually, nakantyawan nga akong mag-host ng dinner minsan sa mga kaibigan kasi nga bagong lipat ako doon. Inimbitahan ko siya, hindi naman siya dumating," Tiangco said in an interview.
Tiangco is the secretary general of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), whose top officials are Vice President Jejomar Binay and Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, Jinggoy's father.
Tiangco said the dinner was hosted in August or September of last year when he was ironing out internal issues in the UNA party.
As stated in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN), Tiangco owns the property beside the supposed house of Senator Estrada.
Tiangco said he sold his old house in Greenhills back in 2010 before he bought his property in Mandaluyong City from Verdant Forest Highlands Inc.
"Yung bahay ko sa Greenhills nasa SALN ko yan. Yung bahay ko sa Wack Wack nasa SALN ko yan. Ngayon, kung sino man yung mga kapitbahay ko dun, transaction 'yun between the seller of the lot and the buyer. Hindi na para ako ang magsabi nun," he said.
Pressed further whether or not Senator Estrada was his neighbor, the UNA official said: "Ginagawa yung bahay dun sa tabi ko eh."
A news website reported that Estrada did not mention the Wack Wack property in his SALN. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
