No increase in candle prices, says DTI-A A +A

AHEAD of the nation's observance of the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured the public of stable price and supply of candles.
"There is no price increase for candle products," said Victorio Dimagiba, Consumer Welfare and Business Regulation Group officer-in-charge.
He also assured the public of stable supply of candle for the November 1 and 2 commemorations based on the assurance made by major candle manufacturers.
Based on the price guide list released by DTI on October 11, prices of candles from various brands are as follows:
20-piece pack of white Liwanag Esperma #3 - P43.75
20-piece pack of Liwanag Esperma #5 - P60.75
4-piece pack of Liwanag Esperma #24 - P122.75
10-piece pack of white Manila Wax Esperma #2 - P44.75
20-piece pack of Esperma #3 - P54.75
4-piece Esperma #14 - P44.75
2-piece pack of Esperma #16 - P49.75
At Farmers Market in Cubao, Quezon City vendors were strictly following the price list issued by the DTI.
Charlotte Fabian, a candle vendor at Farmers Market, said, "Kelan lang nandito 'yung mga taga DTI. Strikto ang admin kaya talagang sumusunod kami. May mga naka-paskil din na price list sa paligid. Nilagay ng DTI."
Dimagiba advised the consumers to check the weight and price tags of candles before making any purchase.
On the other hand, selling of flowers is also being monitored by the government through the DTI. But the agency has yet to release a pricelist for flowers, which are also in demand during this time of the year.
At present, prices of flowers at Farmers Market are as follows:
Bouquet of flowers - P500-P800 (depending on the set-up and flowers used)
Jimba - P30/stem
Mom's Malaysian - P80/3 stems
Bouquet of roses - P400
Stargazer - 250/set
