TWO persons were injured during the hostage-taking incident at Barangay Sta. Teresita in Quezon City on Monday morning.

Four members of a family including a one-year-old toddler were held hostage inside the family's house by their own relative.

Police said hostage-taker Gerry Lo stabbed his mother, Luzviminda, and another victim identified as John Carlo Galendon.

Luzviminda sustained injuries in the chest while Gelendon sustained stab injuries in her knees, arms and chest.

Witnesses said the hostage taker started to rage on Sunday evening for unknown reason.

Aside from the two victims, Mary Rose Gelendon, 16, cousin of the suspect, and a one-year-old girl were also held hostage.

Gelendon said that Lo has been using illegal drugs for two years and admitted that he has been his parents' problem since he started using shabu, a banned substance.

The hostage drama lasted for three hours.

The injured victims were being treated in Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center and United Doctors Medical Center while the suspect is now in police custody. (Sunnex)
