TWELVE couples, who spouses are members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), on Friday have exchanged their vows at a mass wedding ceremony in Quezon City.
The wedding ceremony, officiated by Rev. Fr. Bernardino Cortez, was held at the St. Joseph Chapel at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame.
One of participants, Senior Superintendent Romulo Esteban, chief of staff of PNP in Bicol Region, has been civilly married to his wife for 25 years.
The Esteban couple has two children.
The police official advised newlyweds to remain faithful to their chosen lifetime partners.
"Dapat laging tapat sa pagsasama, ako kahit na chief na ako, pagdating sa bahay si misis pa din ang commander," he said.
The officiating priest said that it was important for couples to swear their love for each other in front of the Almighty.
Cortez meantime urged the public to go to their local parish church to avail themselves of the mass wedding, which can be held every Thursday.
"Sa ganoong paraan makakatipid talaga sila at the same time mababasbasan ang kanilang pagsasama," he added.
PNP chief of the directorial staff Marcelo Garbo said the mass wedding has been a yearly tradition in all PNP camps nationwide during Valentine's Day.
(Sunnex)
