MANILA - Olympic figure skater Michael Christian Martinez will be paying a courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III, a Palace official said Sunday.
In an interview over dzRB Radyo ng Bayan, Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said the Philippine Sports Commission already made a request for a courtesy call.
But he said that he has yet to know when the call could take place as the President has a hectic schedule this coming week.
Earlier, Coloma said the President will be marking the 28th anniversary of the Edsa Revolution in the provinces, including those hit by recent calamities.
Also, the President will have a two-day state visit to Malaysia on February 27 and 28.
For now, he said the Office of the President is considering all factors.
Martinez, the first figure skater from Southeast Asia who competed in the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, ended up 19th place from the competition. (SDR/Sunnex)
