JANET Napoles remains in the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) in Makati City because she has yet to pay her bills, a police official said Wednesday.
In a press briefing, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Chief Superintendent Reuben Sindac said Napoles' transfer to Camp Sto. Domingo in Laguna will be moved to a later date as she has yet to settle her hospital bill of P97,116.43.
"I was informed by the PNP contingent that they were preparing supposedly to move early today and there were changes as soon as hospital hours opened," he said.
Doctors have given the alleged pork barrel scam mastermind surgical and gynecological clearance on Tuesday, days after she underwent surgery for the removal of her uterus, two ovaries due to an ovarian mass.
Napoles' camp earlier filed a motion with the Makati Regional Trial Court for the extension of her stay in OsMak. A hearing is set on May 13.
"Our coordination with the director of OsMak disclosed they could not also make any comment or statement because their legal department would prefer to wait for the results for the appeal for the extension of stay and the payment of hospital bills," Sindac added.
Napoles had been detained at the police training camp for serious illegal detention charge of pork barrel scam main whistleblower Benhur Luy.
Earlier, Judge Elmo Alameda ordered Napoles to pay entirely the cost of her operation and confinement. (Sunnex)
