Wednesday, May 14, 2014
OMBUDSMAN Conchita Carpio-Morales on Wednesday issued subpoena duces tecum (or subpoena for production of evidence) directing the secretary-general of the House of Representatives to submit information details of lawmakers allegedly involved in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.
Morales asked Secretary General Marilyn Barua-Yap to provide the Ombudsman a copy of the personal data sheet, curriculum vitae, updated service records and oath of office of Representatives Edgar Chatto, Arthur Pingoy (South Cotobato), Isidro Ungab (Davao City) and the late Guillermo Cua (Coop-Natcco party-list).
The three lawmakers were among the past and present government officials mentioned in the so-called list of lawmakers who alleged conspired with businesswoman Janet Napoles in the multi-billion peso PDAF scam.
The documents were being asked by the Ombudsman in connection with its ongoing probe into the pork barrel anomaly. (Sunnex)
