THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said its Public Order Violator room at the PNP General Hospital (PNPGH) in Camp Crame, Quezon City is ready to accommodate Senator Juan Ponce Enrile if the court grants him hospital arrest due to his frail health condition.
The senior lawmaker is facing plunder and graft charges in connection with the multi-billion peso Priority Development Assistance Fund scam.
PNP Health Service director Chief Superintendent Alejandro Advincula said the PNPGH readied two kinds of special ward for Enrile, a nine-square meter private room with electric fan, single bed and a comfort room and a 12-square meter room with air conditioner, single bed and a restroom with shower.
"'Yung electric fan lang walang salamin, "yung bintana rehas lang, parehong isa lang 'yung bintana nung dalawang kwarto," he said.
Advincula said there is a nurse station in the special ward to attend to the needs of the would-be detainee.
Enrile, along with the detained Senators Ramon Revilla Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada allegedly amassed millions worth of commissions after allegedly channeling their PDAF to the fake non-government organizations of businesswoman Janet Napoles who is currently at the Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna for the serious illegal detention of pork barrel scam main whistleblower Ben Hur Luy.
Revilla and Estrada were committed to the PNP custodial center on Friday and Monday, respectively. (Sunnex)
