MEDIA outfits, particularly television networks should secure permission before posting their OB vans during a live and important coverage inside the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, a police official said Friday.

PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief Reuben Theodore Sindac said before "every anticipated" special coverage, TV networks should send a letter of request signed by their offices' officials to the Headquarters Support Service (HSS) indicating the duration of the request as well as the number of outside broadcast (OB) vans and crews who will cover the event.

HSS tightened its rules following the extensive media coverage of the surrender of Senators Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada and Ramon "Bong" Revilla on plunder and graft charges to Camp Crame.

The two accused in the alleged misuse of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) turned themselves in to police after the Sandiganbayan issued warrants of arrest against them.

"Nung last na nagkaroon ng malakihang coverage, 'yun ngang sa mga senators, napansin nila (HSS) na nagbababad na sila doon at ang lalaki ng mga OB vans which also caused traffic dun sa street na iyon ng kampo na iniiwasan na ngayon kasi they want to make sure that everything inside the camp is in order," Sindac said.
